The present Board of Directors comprise of following 9 directors out of which 8 are elected:

Mr. Jonathan. R. Simon - Chairman & Non-Executive Director

Mr. Simon has 30 years of experience in the Home and Commercial textile industry and is Chief Executive Officer of 1888 Mills, LLC., USA and director of Lucky1888 Ghana. He had his education from University of Chicago Booth School of Business AMP, Indiana University BS.

Mr. Khaleequr Rahman - Non-Executive Director

Mr. Khaleequr Rahman is in textile industry for more than four decades. Belonging to a family in business for generations, he was made part of business during his education days and started to learn and understand the textile and other family businesses. With the broadening of experience and exposure, his role was enhanced over time and ultimately assigned the responsibility to lead the business. After assuming of role he strongly emphasized on change in culture, adopting and practicing the more proven technological advancements and made all his efforts to adopt good practices, and introduced the culture of high performance with maximum economization. With his visionary and leadership capabilities and foresightedness, he not only enhanced the volume and profit by many folds but the company also on sustainable basis to rank as the largest in the Country. He is an individual who is highly respected in the Textile Industry for his professional acumen, vision and innovations. He is also a Certified Director by the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.

Mr. Shabbir Ahmed - Non-Executive Director

Mr. Shabbir belongs to a family who has diversified stake in industries, trade and commerce for many decades in Pakistan and he himself is engaged in similar activities for almost 45 years both independently and in joint ventures and in partnership with other family members as well as other business houses and individuals. In addition to trading/commercial activities he has a substantial stake in textile sector and is involved in the overall management as Chief Executive and Director. He travels extensively for updating on advancement in textile sector and for exploring export markets, contract negotiation and customer retention. Mr. Shabbir is very much respected in the business community as well by banks and financial institutions as man of commitment.

Mr. Perwez Ahmed - Non-Executive Director

He is associated and involved in the textile and other businesses since last almost four decades and has excellent vision and command over planning, production and marketing. He has very strong interpersonal and communications skills. Mr. Perwez Ahmed besides being active in implementing the goals and targets has acumen for the financial and treasurery functions. He played a key role in devising the corporate strategy and merger of few family companies in one.

Mr. Nasim Hyder - Independent Director

Mr. Nasim Hyder has over 30 years of experience in accountancy, audit, tax, corporate affairs and consultancy as a partner in practice with Ernst & Young. An exemplary in Pakistan on taxation, he was actively involved in policy matters regarding tax legislations and has served a number of prominent industrial sectors in tax services besides being the tax advisory for various local & global clients of Ernst & Young. Served as the president of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan (ICAP), he has been an eminent member of various committees at ICAP and CAPA.

Currently Mr. Nasim Hyder is officiating as independent Director, and Chairman Audit Committee at Feroze1888 Mills Limited.

Ms. Huma Pasha - Independent Director

Huma Pasha has joined the Usmani and Company in 2015 and brings with her rich working experience in large setups of more than 35 years in energy, treasury and internal audit functions of the Organizations. Her prominent skill set is training, and she is a vibrant trainer at well-reputed educational & business forums across Pakistan. Huma is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), USA, has done Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) from IIA and a Certified Internal Control Auditor from the Institute of Internal Controls, USA (IIC)

Huma has extensive work experience in the Energy and Power Sector and worked for the Hub Power Company (Hubco) Pakistan’s from 1993 to 2012. In 2013 joined the Dawood Hercules Group as Group Head Internal Audit for their public limited companies (Dawood Hercules Corp., Dawood Lawrencepur Ltd., Dawood Fertilizer Ltd., and Cyan Ltd.) as well as their private companies. Implemented a risk management system for the Dawood Group of companies and led group-wide training workshops to share best practices across these companies.

Huma is an active contributor at the Institute of Internal Auditors Global. Worked for over 10 years on the Professional Issues Committee of IIA Global as well as many other committees. Working on these committees resulted in reviewing and updating the internal audit standards and draft papers of other professional bodies such as Basel, COSO, and PCAOB. In recognition of her services to Institute of Internal Auditors Global she has been placed on the cover page of the annual report of Institute of Internal Auditors in 2006. In 2010 carried out quality control review of State Bank of Pakistan’s internal audit functions

Huma is a professional trainer and for the past 20 years piloting seminars and conferences for the organization that she worked for as well as for Institute of Internal Auditors-ISACA Karachi Chapter, Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance-PICG, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan-ICAP and Institute of Business Administration-IBA. She regularly conducts Directors Training Programs for Board and has covered the following subjects

  • Board Ethical Obligations & Legal Compliance
  • Board Performance and Evaluation
  • Corporate Governance & Board Responsibilities
  • Risk, Board Strategy and Sustainable Reporting

Huma is certified director and currently serving on the Board of Hi-Tech Alloy Wheels

As first Chairperson of the Chartered Accountants Women’s Forum of ICAP she laid down foundation for all CA Women to follow the path of professional excellence and has created many opportunities for networking and professional grooming. Huma has served on ICAP’s Continued Development Committee, IT Committee, PAIB Committee and served on their Quality Assurance Board in 2009-2011.

In the past Huma has been the President of IIA Karachi Chapter (four years) as well has severed as the President of ISACA Karachi Chapters (four years).

Mr. Asim Shabbir Patka - Non-Executive Director

Asim Shabbir Patka is a seasoned businessman with investments in textile, real estate and the stock market and has more than 18 years of industry experience.

Asim is presently running a textile garment unit. He is on the board of a non-profit organization and is a director on a government trade body FPCCI committee. He is a philanthropist and believes in giving back to the society. A visionary and a strategic thinker, he has good leadership skills and leads effective teams in order to reach the desired goals.

Asim is a certified director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.

Mr. Usama Rehman - Non-Executive Director

Usama Rehman graduated with a degree in Textile Science and Technology from the University Of Manchester. He has worked in various sectors through his career including Livestock, Health, Microfinance and Agriculture with particular interest in Modern Agriculture.

A vivid reader, Usama believes in empowerment of the youth through education and is involved in various capacities to improve education standards for the underprivileged with focus on schools in rural areas.

Usama is a Certified Director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.

Mr. Rehan Rahman - Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Rehan has over 15 years of progressive experience in towel manufacturing industry and is currently officiating as Chief Executive Officer Feroze1888 Mills Limited. He has a keen interest in the area of human resource and organizational development and have worked immensely in this area along with gaining the functional understanding of the system and processes. He is also a certified director by Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance and takes personal interest in his grooming by attending various technical and leadership courses.
